Nissan Repair: 95 nissan altima, air intake hose, nissan altima

Question
My 95 altima has been stalling both when I drive and when at stop lights. stalled once driving about 40, and twice at stop lights. It has been running strong other than that though. I have noticed that the rpm's dip then come back up, then the car just dies.  If I try to start it right away it just cranks, but I let it sit for 30 seconds and it starts and drives fine.  The car has 169,000 miles on it, timing belt has never been changed, had the wires, and a new distributor, and alternator put in a year ago.

Answer
It sounds like the air intake hose between the throttle body and the air meter is old and cracked or the air meter itself is going out.  So, first check the intake hose for cracks and make sure the clamps are tight.  If that is not the case.  I would buy a Haynes manual and sheck the reference voltage for your year.  You can get a multi-meter for about $20 bucks to probe the sensor and the book will give you the correct readings for your year.
