Nissan Repair: Nissan maxima 2000 engine shut off, air control valve, nissan maxima

I have a nissan maxima 2000 Manual transmission. Everytime I brake or slow down or wait at the light the engine shuts off. The car cannot idle. Only exception is when i start the car in the morning. it can idle at 1000rpm but as it heats up the rev fall down to 500 rpm and then engine shuts off.

First, have the plugs been changed and are the coils new?  Also, is there a check engine light.  The known problem for the 2000 Maxima is the coils are defective and will give you a multiple cylinder misfire.  I would first replace the plugs and coils.  courtesyparts.com are cheap compared to the dealer.  Also, have the throttle body cleaned and check the idle air control valve.  I would really need to know if there are any specific codes?  Autozone or Checker will check the codes for free.  Email me back and let me know more...
