Nissan Repair: oxygen sensor, oxygen sensors, oxygen sensor

Question
I have a 2001 Frontier 4cyl vin 1N6DD21S81C381918 5sd manual reg. cab. Two questions, the oxygen sensor that goes in the manifold, I couldn't get a Nissan part, I bought a Bosch # 13827 replacement which is supposed to be an exact replacement, but the connector is different. It looks to me like the male end of the sensor and the female end would line up but the housing is a different. does the female end unplug from the housing like the male end of the sensor. If it does, it looks like it would snap together. Also I noticed oil around my differential, looks like it is coming from the driveshaft yoke, could it be the pinion seal?

Answer
On the oxygen sensor it will work if it is the correct type.  If the connector is different you can cut and solder the wires.  Since oxygen sensors are self generators it is important to make the wires the same length as the original and solder and seal where it is spliced.  The pinion seal is no big deal if it is only seeping.  If it is dripping on the ground or covering the bottom of the truck I would replace it.
