Nissan Repair: Bose Car Stereo, nissan maxima, nissan dealership

Question
Hi, I recently purchased a 1994 Nissan Maxima.  The radio/cd player/cassette player console does not work; power does not turn on, nothing.  I took it to Cartoys and they ran a diagnostic, and all the fuses check out fine and everything.  When I asked about just getting a new cd deck, they said that the Bose speakers are different because each speaker has an amp, etc.  I'm not sure as to how to proceed now; get a whole new system, take it to a Nissan dealership so they can try to fix it, find another Bose cd deck somewhere; I'm just not sure.  I'm looking for the cheapest solution, and if it's at all possible, I would like to keep the Bose speakers.  Anyway, I'm just looking for some suggestions from someone who knows about this kind of stuff.  Thank you for your time.

Answer
Ok, the choices are to buy a used head unit or take yours out and send it to a shop that repairs head units.  Check the phone book in your town and see if there is a shop that does stock head unit repair.  When I was in Dallas they had a place called Speedometer Speciality that did instruments and head units for the dealers in the North Texas area.  The other option is to change out everything.  Crutchfield or the like you can get speakers and a new head unit along with an installation kit to make the radio look good.  It is just a matter of a weekend taking your system out and making the swap.
