Nissan Repair: Engine Problem, fuel pressure gauge, apparent problems

Question
96 4 Cylinder Nissan 4 Whl Drive pickup truck, standard transmission -

No problems while driving around town.  On longer trips the engine will lose power, but not die.  I pull over to the side of the road and it will still idle with no apparent problems, but it will not accelerate or rev up. It tries to rev up but chokes back.   I can turn engine off for less than two seconds and it will start right back up and work fine.

I can not reproduce the problem around town.  On one trip this happened to me 5 times in one day.  The first 2 times it happened I was traveling at 70 MPH.  But the other times was a varying speeds and sometimes I was slowing down and at other times I was pulling a steep grade.

Answer
It sounds like a fuel pump or an ignition module.  You are going to need to take a multi-meter with you when the truck starts acting up so you can see if the coil is getting appropriate voltage.  Also, a fuel pressure gauge would be nice to see if there is fuel pressure.  With what you have stated it is difficult to isolate.  So, it is either fuel or gas and we need to isolate it to one of the systems.
