Nissan Repair: Maxima front end vibrates, cv joints, maxima gle

Question
I have a 1996 Maxima gle with 250,000 miles. When I accerate the front wheels vibrate. The tires have been balanced. The shocks are relatively new. There is no noticeable frame damage. The wheels are not bent.

What could it be.

Answer
You either have bad tie rods or the CV joints are going out.  Check the tie rods by jacking the car up and then moving the tire side to side and look at the play on the tie rods.  If you have any movement in the tie rods you will need to replace them.  And, at 250K on the odometer you probably need CV joints anyway.
