Nissan Repair: Headlights Pathfinder, low beams, headlight bulbs

Question
I have a 96 Pathfinder that keeps popping the headlight bulbs after about a week of use. They just don't burn out they pop inside the headlamp assembly. Usually the low beams go first then the high beams. Checked voltage at the light connector and it reads battery voltage. Is there a resistor that knocks the amperage down. Any help would be appreciated as it is getting expensive to replace the bulbs

Answer
Are you using clean gloves to replace the bulbs?  Oil fron your skin or oil from the car will make the bulbs pop if you get any on the bulb when you replace them?  Also, if water gets in the headlight fixture it will cause them to burst.  Lastly, if you have a high wattage aftermarket sound system with a large amp that is not grounded properly will cause lightbulbs to pop.  If you have an aftermarket amp be sure to ground it with a large cable and a good ground connection.
