Nissan Repair: Electrical problem with 1997 Nissan 200SX, 1997 nissan 200sx, windshield wipers

When I accelerate, I lose power for all the accessories such as windshield wipers and heater fans.  Just put in a new battery.  When I idle the car, I can run the wipers.  What do you think is the problem and how much does it cost to repair?

Hi Leslie, My initial thought is this could be a charging system problem. Double check your battery connections. for tightness. Make sure your Alternator is putting out a sufficient charge to the battery. Many Auto Parts stores will check your  battery and charging syestem for free because they want to sell you a battery or Alternator. If these check ok this could be a ground problem to the accesory relay. I would have to look this up in the manual to diagnose beyond this point. Mike
