Nissan Repair: starter repair, nissan 4wd, cylinoid

Question
My 1997 nissan 4wd manual trans. truck is starting slowly, occasionally not at all. If I let it sit for 5-10 min it will turn over, but it sounds like it is laboring. Had the alternator and battery checked- both good. The engine usually starts, so the check on the starter comes up good, but I still think it is the starter. What do you think? Next question- where is the starter located on my truck?

Answer
Craig, it could be the cylinoid on the starter (possibly dragging)

your starter should be located on the driver side bottom..

Best way to get to it is under the vehicle on the driver side.

Also, check the power wire that runs from the battery to the starter if it is loose (tighten it) or if it is corroded (replace it) on the starter it will cause the same effect.
