Nissan Repair: bleeding brakes, nissan sentra, bleeding brakes

Question
today i changed my front brake pads on my 1988 nissan sentra. we'll not really knowing what i was doing i unbolted the screw on the back of the caliper releasing brake fluid.after putting everything back together the brakes were not working properly.so i figured that they needed to be bled.i was unable to loosen the bleeder screw, because it was stipped,so i loosened the screw on the back of the caliper to release the air in the line.please let me know if that is ok,or the proper way to do this.do i need to bleed the rear brakes as well, even though i only changed the front pads? the reason i couldn't loosen the bleeder screw was because it was already stripped.the brakes worked ok when they were pumped while in motion. please help. thanks!!!!

Answer
Yes, Eric you can bleed them like that.  For future you should not take off the brake line to drain.  That is why when I just reponded to you (about 10 minutes ago) I said to just take the CAP off the master cylinder and compress the plunger by hand.

This pushed the fluid back up to the line and bubbles back into the master cylinder so that air is not able to get into the lines.
Pumping will make your brakes work however, if you properly get them bleed you will not need to "Pump" the brakes everytime you come to a stop.

Sorry it didn't make it back to you on time.
