Nissan Repair: Shift lever, shift lever, safety switch

Question
Where is the switch located on the brake pedal and can I replace it myself. I took a quick look and cant find it   -------------------------

I have a 90 Nissan Max automatic
When I step on the brake it wont release the shift lever and I have to move it with the release on the lever.Appreciate any help

you'll have to change the safety switch on the break pedal.

Take out your center console, it might be down there on the bottom.
This is the only other place where I believe it to be located.  If not.  Call your local Dealership Jerry or try your owners manual (Chilton book). They might be able to help locate if you cannot find it this way.
