Nissan Repair: radio/electrical malfunction, infinity cars, radio problem

Question
Since nissan makes infinity cars, I hope you can answer my question. I have a 1995 infinity J-30 and I am having trouble with my radio. The problem is that the sound will spontaneously fade away and return after several minutes. whenever I insert a cd into my CD player, the song will play for a while then the sound will disappear. on the display, the cd will continue to play and even go to another track, then suddenly the sound will appear again. Could this be a wiring short, a radio problem, or a problem with the speakers?

Answer
S. Boyce,

Sounds like a bare wire on a speaker.  This cause the fading in and out.  This occured to me just recently, but mine blew the entire stereo.  My speakers are still goood, but now I have to radio, cd, etc.

So look into this quickly, check for bare wire touching any and all metal, also look behind the stereo itself for bare wires touching metal.

IF NO WIRES ARE BARE:

when they install a factory stereo they put an amplifier on it, when the amplifier over heats it will shut itself down (yes the stereo will still play) but the amplifier won't.

The amplifier is located inside the stereo itself.
You will either need a new amp in it or just replace the stereo.

Good luck,
Darrel
