Nissan Repair: disc brake pads, disc brake pads, inboard side

Question
I'm replacing front pads ona 82 datsun p/u,4wd & i'm having problems Instl the outboard pad, not enough cleareance, when cly.is fully retracted. this is a single piston system, I have no man'l. also if the caliper is a static mount to frame, and only 1 cly on the inboard side, what activates the o/b pad? Need help! thanks

Answer
Carl,

For starters, if your pistons is all the way contracting.

Then it sounds like you were given the wrong pads for the caliper.

Or your piston is not contracted all the way.

If piston not contracted, try to squeeze it down to contract it more.

If wrong pads get the right ones.

Good luck
