Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Door module, buick park avenue, scan tool

2000 Buick Park Avenue, drivers door module that controls windows,locks mirrors.  Nothing on drivers side works so I suspect the module. Fuses are ok. Are these things known to fail and what would cause this.

I have seen this module go faulty, ALTHOUGH before I damn a module, I ALWAYS check and make sure I have good powers and grounds. If a scan tool is avalible I would also check and see if data is able to be displayed and or any codes stored.
