Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Instrument Panel lights, light dimmer, body control module

Question
I have a 2000 alero, my instrument panel lights and dash tower lights remain on after turning the car of.  Ive checked all relays and fuses, I was told to check light dimmer module, I changed already the light dimmer switch.  Please advise, and if you can tell me where the module is located, and what it looks like.  Thank you

Answer
Hi
What someone has called the light dimmer module, is actually called the Body Control Module (BCM). It controls interior light dimming.
It is a small black plastic module, located under the passenger side below glove box RIGHT next to the blower fan motor for the Air conditioner. It will be mounted on a bracket next to blower motor. Probabally 6" square.
If you rplace it, it WILL need to be reprogrammed AND CONFIGURED for YOUR car.
I hope this helps
Good Luck
