Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 2000 Buick LeSabre fuel pump problem, 2000 buick lesabre, buick lesabre

Question
I am the 3rd owner of a 2000 Buick LeSabre with 52000 miles.  I recently had to have a complete tuneup, including new plugs, wires, fuel filter, PCV valve, and ignition coils.  Within the past couple of weeks I began hearing a sound coming from the trunk which seems to be the fuel pump turning on and off.  The car starts and runs great, but this noise seems to be happening with increased frequency, does this sound like the fuel pump is beginning to fail?  I previouly had a 1991 LeSabre with 186,000 miles and never replaced anything electrical other than the alternator.  Thanks!

Answer
Hi
I have heard some Lesabre pumps make noise. That being said it is not really common on these vehicles.
Because of this my advice would be to take it to a good mechanic your familiar with and have them listen to it, just to make sure it's the pump.
If it is, I can tell you about GM pumps I have heard them make noise for years and never go out, and again I have heard them make noise and go out in a few days.
Thats my advice...
Hope this helps
