Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 92 Buick LeSabre, buick lesabre, selenoid

Question
We have a 92 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8L engine.  Recently we had it stall out.  We replaced the alternator which DID read bad on a test.  Still the car won't always start or stall while driving.  Could this be the ignition modulator?  I was driving down the road and the car just cut out.  The battery was still working, lights, AC, PW, PL, and radio all were working.  The battery reads fine.

After a few minutes, the car started right up.  WE have replaced the thermostat and radiator recently as well.  Could it be the ignition modulator?  Or could it be something else?  It just does not seem to want to crank over right away, but after a few minutes it starts up.  What about the selenoid?  Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hello Laura,
First of all, the solenoid would not cause it to die, and if the starter cranks, the solenoid is good anyway.

I would connect a fuel pressure tester where I could see it while driving, and see if the pressure stays up when it dies.

Yes, it could be the ignition module, but it could also be just running out of fuel, or loosing power to the ignition or fuel system, or the EGR valve could be sticking open.
