Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 90 3.8 olds stalling, coolant temperature sensor, egr valves

Question
Hi, I had a stalling and spuddering issue on the way home tonight. Changed the fuel filter right away but still the same problem. I can borrow a guage to test fuel pressure if you think I should. What should the numbers be? Not looking forward to dropping the tank but will tomorrow to replace the pump. The car has 110k on it and I don't know the pump history.  Thanks in advance

Answer
Hello Billy,
If that has throttle body injection, the pressure needs to be 13 PSI...running or not.
If it has a different type of injectio, the pressure will be more, like around 35PSI, but I would look it up to be sure.
There are a few more things that could be causing it.

I would probably test or replace the coolant temperature sensor. Read the following topic.

Clean the idle air control valve and egr valves also.

The MAF sensor can also be a cause for problems. The following is a Ford link, but I just haven't found a GM link that explains it so well, and they work the same.

And running some injector cleaner through the tank could also help if the pressure is ok, but the injectors might be dirty.
