The text above is a follow-up to ...

-----Question-----
bought a used 97, would run for 15-20 minutes and shut down. check fuel pressure while cranking, had none. replace fuel pump, pickup screen and filter. same problem.
-----Answer-----
The fuel pump is operated by a relay, controlled by the ECM, but requires a crank signal to the ecm from the crank sensor.
There is also an oil pressure switch that supplies power directly from the battery to the fuel pump as long as there is oil pressure.
I can't believe both of those systems are bad, and the common link is the wire harness connecting them to the fuel pump, the ground wire back near the tank, and the fusible link which supplies power to both systems. It should be at the starter battery post.

Answer
That is for sure a possibility. Most major parts houses can check a module if you take it in, but chances are, if it is the module, and it is heat related, it will have cooled down by the time you get it out, and to the store, and may check out just fine.
A scan tool connected could be of assistance.

There are other possibilities also.
The ignition switch is one. Coil pack is another.ECM is another.
But whatever it is, if it acts the same regularly, it sounds like a heat related intermittent open.
