Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 97 olds 88, pressure test, fuel pressure

help! car runs but all of a sudden, looses power and barely moves, engine lite appears. after sitting it runs fine.

Could be any of a big bunch of things.

Fuel filter comes to mind, but really, you need to isolate weather it is electrical or fuel, so a fuel pressure test would be recommended.
I would want it connected before the problem, and left connected so you can see what it is doing during the problem.
If working properly, the pressure will stay at specified pressure.
