Question
hi van i have a 93 buick 3.8 and the last month or so it started  a knocking sound only after it warms up and only at idle in the drive position. if in park the knock is very very light and not noticeable. also it is more noticeable when inside car   any suggestions would be appreciated i changed spark plugs and wires checked knock sensor        thanx

Answer
Check under the car, to see if anything has been bent, like a cross member, causing part of the exhaust sustem to touch the body.

It is also possible for the engine torque strut to be worn, and allow the same thing.

Set the parking brake real well, and place it in drive, and watch the engine rock as it is shifted from neutral, to drive, and to reverse.

if you can hear it knocking down by the firewall, grab something on the engine, and see if you can pull it enough to stop the knocking.
