Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Buick Century-1999, intake manifold gasket, buick century

Question
We took the car in for an oil change and they told us it needed the brake fluid flushed out and replaced.  This is a 1999 Buick Century.  With all the cars we have ever had, we never have done this or heard of this needing to be done. They were charging $130.  So, we took it somewhere else for a second opinion.  This came out even worse.  They said we needed this and also the intake manifold gasket needing replacing.  They would charge 559.23 for this.  Also, needed to slush radiator, $89.99, flush hydraulic system for 49.99 (I think this is the brake fluid) and need another oil change even though this was just done.

Now we are really confused!  Can you advise what we should do next?

Thanks so much.

Answer
Find a mechanic that you can trust. We do exist. Find one that a friend has used for years, and tell him the same thing you told me.
There are instances where some of those things need attention, but I wouldn't rush out and have them done.
If you are not loosing coolant, the intake manifold gasket doesn't need replaced.
And have him show you why one would think the others need flushed. Then decide.
