Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: replacement of chip key, correct key, new keys

how do i start my 1998 olds eighty eight? Had new keys made, only door key turns. Is there some sort of reset procedure?

Hello Mattie,
The chip has nothing to do with the switch "turning". If you can't turn it, then it is not the correct key for that switch, which may have been replaced at some time, or it is not cut properly.

If it turns and cranks over, but won't start, then there is a proceedure for programming the car to use the new key, but it requires two orriginal keys also, or a trip to the dealer with the car.
