Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1993 Olds Ciera: hesitation, olds cutlass ciera, throttle position sensor

Question
1993 Olds Cutlass Ciera S 3.3L    177,000 Km  (110,000 Miles)
When trying to accelerate quickly (left turn at light or entering highway) the engine loses power until I back off on accelerator, and have to SLOWLY pick up speed. This happens worst after first started, and slowly gets better, but not by much. At low/regular traffic speeds the car moves fine. Just don't try to do anything quickly or it bucks and hesitates. Garage #1 changed plugs, ignition wires, fuel filter, air filter, and cleaned injectors. This helped for 3 weeks. Symptoms slowly returned. Garage #2 cannot find anything specific and said not to waste money guessing on things to replace and gave me the car back unchanged.  I put in med and high grade gas, and fuel cleaners - no change.  The fuel pump is audible when the ignition key is turned.  The first attempt at cold start: rough and will not start. Immediate second attempt starts engine and will start perfectly each time until stone cold next day.
typical: when driving at any speed (residential or highway), if I push gas peddle to make a quick acceleration, the car actually slows down and I can feel a bucking and hesitation until I let up and allow it to slowly gain speed.  I've been nearly nailed a few times by oncoming traffic as I try to enter the highway or make a turn into traffic.   Any suggestions?   Thanks in advance !!

Answer
Hi Wayne,
My suggestion would be to connect a fuel pressure tester, and make sure the proper pressure is there, DURING the problem.
I suspect the fuel filter, or a hose inside the tank that connects the pump to the line. The pressure test will verify, or rule out that, real quick.
If the pressure is where it belongs, I would check the throttle position sensor.

The temp sender is also important. Read this forum.

Then this link, even though it is for Fords, they work the same.
