Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: bolts on wheel cylinder, wheel cylinder, vice grips

Question
Van:

I have an 91 Olds and I was replacing the rear wheel cylinder.  The bolts that hold the cylinder are not a regular bolt head.  They are kind of "flower" shaped.  I used a socket on one of the bolts and it worked fine but the other one splipped and now I have a damaged bolt that I can't get off with a regular socket.  Do you need a special socket to take these bolts off and where would you get one or how can I get this bolt off?  The only two things I can think of is a torch which I don't have or to drill the head off but the drill won't fit under there or grind off the head.  I tried using vice-grips but it slips off when I try to turn it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ron

Answer
Hi Ron,
You caught me on that bolt. I can't think of a special tool, unless it is a Torx.
Can you take the one you got out to a parts store, and see if they have a special socket for it?
Also, an angle drill might let you get in there and drill out the bolt.
