Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Tranny Problems, crank no start?, buick skylark, throttle body injection

Question
I recantly started having problems with my '91 buick skylark Lux edition.  I was driving and it started hesitating then it started making noise and shifitng hard(automatic tranny). Then I got it home.  I checked the fluid level it was low.  Then I filled it and tried to drive it it was ok for a little while then started having the same problem.  I got it home again and turned iit off.  I tried to start it again later but now it won't even start.  It was low on fuel and it is cold out (23 degrees).  I thought the fuel lines might be frozen so I went and got gas and dry gas I put the dry gas in and put about half a tank of fuel in it.  I tried sarting it but it wouldn't start.  Could you give me any suggestions?

Answer
Hello Patrick,
In the event water in the gas is the problem, it may need to get above freezing so the line with the frozen water can thaw, and the drygas circulate, before it can do any good.
Low fuel pressure sure could cause those symptoms, though, and frozen water, a dirty filter, or a bad pump could any one of them be the cause.
I would connect a tester to the fuel system, and see what it shows.
Lacking the tester, I would probably replace the filter, and catch a little gas from the line in a clean glass jar while the filter is out. Just turn the ignition switch to run, and the pump should run for two seconds.
Be careful with the old filter so you can see what drips out of it into a clean container.
Let the collected fuel sit for just a few minutes, and if there is water, it will form beads of water in the bottom of the containers.

That is probably a throttle body injection vehicle, and if you have a way of checking the pressure, it should be 13 PSI, or close to it.
Any other type of injection will be much more.
