Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Buick Century Transmission Failure, buick century, transmission failure

Question
2001 Buick Century - only 25,000 miles - automatic transmission.  Occasionally noticed some slippage when starting from a stopped position over past several weeks.  Recently, and suddenly, the auto began sounding rough and I noticed excessive noise when trying to accelerate from a stopped position and then nothing.  Although I am able to shift into the various gears, the car has no forward or backward movement.  I'm assuming I need to take this to a transmission shop but I am trying to get some insight as to how serious this problem may or may not be?  Should this have occurred with only 25,000 miles - I am not an aggressive/abusive driver ? Any suggestions on how to find a good, ethical transmission shop ?  Thank you.  Paul

Answer
hello paul
i belive you are a good driver with your car . it will have to go in to a shop where they can check the tranny with a diagnostiac . it could be a simpile censer or even a rebuld . should not need rebuld with the low miles u have on this car pete
