THANK YOU YOUR VERY PROMP BUT IM TALKING ABOUT AN OIL COOLER ON THIS MOTOR,THE DEALER SAYS THEY PUT AN OIL COOLER ON THIS CAR BECAUSE IT HAS A TRAILER TOWING PACKAGE ON IT,YEA SUPRIZED ME TOO.GOOD OLD BUICK GOT TO LOVE THEM.THE COOLER LINES COMES OFF THE OIL PUMP GO TO A UNION UNDERNETH THE MOTOR,THERES A UNION ON THE PASSINGER SIDE OF THE CAR TOWARD THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FROM THERE THE OIL LINES GO TO DRIVERS SIDE OF THE RADIATOR,THE TRANS LINES ARE ON THE PASENGER SIDE OF THE RADIATOR,THE BOTTOM LINE ON THE OIL COOLER IS LEAKING CANT FIND A HOSE FOR IT,DONT REALLY WANT TO GET ONE MADE UP,ITS A OLDER LADIES CAR SHE WILL NEVER TOW ANYTHING WITH IT,LOL....JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT I WON'T CAVATATE THE OIL PUMP OR CAUSE ANY OTHER PROBLEM.THANK YOU AGAIN YOUR THE VERY FIRST PERSON THAT GOTTEN BACK TO ME QUICKLY KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...WILLIAM P -------------------------

Hello William,
Sounds like the transmission oil cooler line you are talking about. I have cut those lines before and stuck a piece of fuel line over the metal line, using screw type hose clamps, and had good luck.
It is not high pressure. Just the restriction of passing through the oil cooler, and then the other line just dumps the oil into the transmission case.
Double clamps on each end of the hose if you want. Just don't use a clamp that is too large for the hose.

Hi William,
If it is normal fittings, I think I would try removing the lines and screwing a plug into the holes, but I suspect they used something with a quick disconnect plastic clip. It might still be normal pipe threads though. I haven't seen one on a car.
You would need to plug both of them.
