Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 2000 Olds intrique AC, ac compressor, air temp

Question
Hi,

The AC compressor does not turn on when the AC is activated. Any assistance will be most appreciated.

I check the fluid with a gauge I purchase to charge the system and it indicated the system is fully charged.
I checked the fuses inside the care and they looked fine. I checked the diode inline with the relay and it checked out fine.
One thing I am not sure of is if the control system shows the outside air temp at 45 degrees which is not correct wince it is about 85 outside will this cause the AC not to turn on? Is there an easy way to diagnose the outside temp measurement issue also if it effect the AC functioning?

Thank you very much, John

Answer
You stated: I check the fluid with a gauge I purchase to

Answer: You cannot determine how much freon is in the A/C
system unless the A/C compressor is actually
       RUNNING.
