..heats up to about 240 deg..and water overflows a little from the reservoir....radiator, thermostat and fan clutch ok. Could this be a head gasket problem...and how to test for that? thanks

Would a scanner test reveal this problem? thanks

Doesthe reservoir OVERFLOW ? The NORMAL running temperature of the engine is 220 degrees.

The reservoir DOES OVERFLOW...and more-so with the a/c on..

Answer
You can have a test performed whereas they remove the spark plugs and put 80 to 90 lbs of continous air pressure into one cylinder at a time and look for air bubbles coming out of the top of the radiator with the radiator cap off. If you see bubbles you most likely have a head gasket problem.
