Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Olds. Aurora, blown head gasket, oldsmobile aurora

Question
I have a 96 Oldsmobile Aurora that keeps running hot. The Water pump has been changed, as well as the thermo. What's the problem?

Answer
Are you SURE that the nEW thermostat is working ?. I have seen brand new ones that were faulty.

I always test them under a hot water faucet or use a lighter to make sure that they are opening BEFORE I install them.

Could be a blown head gasket or simply a restriction in the middle and lower portions of the radiator.

just because you can SEE the TOP channels of the radiator emitting coolant when viewed thru the radiator cap opening does NOT mean that the middle and lower channels are open.

Is the radiator fan running properly ?.

let me know.
