Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 1992 Olds 88 Royale squeaking noises, brake rotor, left front tire

Question
My 1992 Olds has 110,000 miles. I had some problems with it last year and had to replace the ignition module and several other things. It has run great since, but has developed  a screech and a squeak that are driving me nuts.
The screech seems to me to be coming from that big coil in the wheel well over the left front tire. It is pretty much constant (worse on rough roads), and only stops when I apply the brakes. My mechanic replaced the bushings, but that did not help.
The squeak happens when I make a left turn or pull the steering wheel to the left, even slightly. The mechanic oiled somethng in the steering column but that didn't help either.
Thanks for any ideas you might have!

Answer
Hi Lee,
In my fleet of vehicles, one will occasionally get a little stone, or piece of gravel cought between the brake rotor, and the backing plate. It will make a noise like that.
You can jack it up, and pull the front wheel off, then pull and pry at that plate. It is real light sheet metal, and will flex easily.
