How much does it cost to fix the computer system on a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme? How does the computer system/PCM affect the A/C system?

There are numerous sensors withinthe A/C system of which are controlled via the vehicles computer system in order to turn ON and OFF the A/C compressor. There is NO actual PCM repairs that you can make. You perform what is called DIAGNOSTIC TESTS to determine if the fault is within the sensors or a fault within the PCM.

EXACTLY what is your problem ?.


The air conditioner gets somewhat cold but not as cold as it should get. I was told that the problem is electrical, but I don't know exactly what the electrical problem is or how much it would cost. Can you give an estimate as to what the problem is and what the financial damage will be? Thank you!

There is no way for me to determine is the outlet vent temperatyre of your AC system is operating correctly.

Vent temperature depends on the heat and humidity of the day and the type of driving whether it be city or highway as well as having to put a set of A/C gages on your system to see if it has the maximum amounnt of freon installed in the system or if there could possibly be a leak somewhere.

You need to have an A/C facility perform some routine tests inorde to determine the efficiency of your system.
