Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: high-mount brake bulb remains on, brake light switch, light bulbs

Question
One of the two high-mount brake bulbs remains on at all times, even when the ignition key is out on an early '90's Olds.  Is this an indication some other brake light bulb is burned out?  Any ideas?  I'll admit I only checked that the left main brake bulb lights up properly when the brake pedal is pushed.

Answer
Most likely ONE of the TWO bulbs is burnt out within the high mount stop lamp assembly which is WHY you ONLY see ONE being illuminated.

The problem is most likely that the HIGH MOUNT brake light switch mounted above the brake pedal under the dash is faulty thus causing BOTH the light bulbs within the high mount lamp assembly to be illuminated.

HOWEVER, Since ONE bulb is most likely BURNT OUT you ONLY see ONE bulb being illuminated.
