Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Fuel leak, gm models, buick lesabre

Question
Tom:
I ahve a 1996 Buick LeSabre and it has a fuel leak.  The leak is from the lower line going into the injector.  I removed the line from the plastic boot and cleaned it off.  I didn't see an O ring or washer on the flanged part of the line.  After cleaning the line it stopped leaking for a day or two then started again.  I noticed that when the car is running the leak is very slow and will increase if I wiggle the line.  When the car is off and is cooling down the leak gets faster until it stops.  Any ideas?  Is there an O ring that may be missing?  A mechanic informed me that the fuel line may have to be replaced.

Thanks for your consideration.

John

Answer
Without actually seeing this problem, Your mechanic is in a better situation to make this type of diagnosis.

However, I do recall that some GM models had some fuel rail problems and it was necessary to replace the fuel rail.

I would go along with what your mechanic suggets and replace the fuel rail and the "O" rings on ALL of the injectors.

The RISK of an engine fire is not worth a couple of bucks.
