Thanks Van,The light did just go off. I had no idea about the flashing light! I'm helping another freind with an 91 Ford escort Pony. The horn did work, now doesn't. I felt relay clicking under dash, but I can't find the horn! Does it look like the normal dish type? This is weird cause they are usually right there. I saw some wires going into passenger fender behind radiator over flow. Other thing is the gas gauge goes from 3/4 to like zero all of a sudden. Miliage is fine, just a delayed fuel float. Car did sit for a few years. I was thinking of some Marvel Mystery oil in gas,but she shot me down.  Any easy fixes? is access under rear seat or trunk? and is there anything I can do? Thanks Van,Jay

Answer
Hi Jay,
Sorry about the Escort horn. I have seen where mud dobbers will find a place like that and build a nest. That is a South West problem...don't know where you live. I don't know what to tell you on that, other than track it down.

The fuel pump/sender will probably require dropping the tank to replace.
Trouble is, it could be something else, like a loose wire, or if it still uses a instrument voltage regulator, it could be that, and replacing the sender might be a waste of time.
I suggest you go to the library, or get a manual for the car that has a section for testing the gauges.
At the library, there is a refference section, and they have all the manuals.
