1992 reviera dashboard display goes on and off, mostly off. how do I repair

Hello kenneth,
You have asked a question in an area that I have no experience, but I think I would check for loose connections.
On the back side of the instrument cluster, there should be a connector that connects all the wires at once.
On the vehicles I work on, these can become corroded, or just loose, and not make contact.
Ground wires can also do that.
Most instrument clusters can be removed much easier than some would think. The contacts can be cleaned with a pencil eraser, or one of those eraser pencils.

That is just an educated guess on my part, but it is something that i think you could do yourself. It may be something more in-depth, or electronic, but this is just time and labor.
Disconnect the battery first.
