Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: When I ...., winter and the summer, dirty fuel

Hello I have a 1996 olds cutless supream and when i start it up and if i rev up it stops at 4000 rpms and if i hold the gas pedal down it like reves on its own is tha normal? I didnt think it was and  i am puzzald would new plugs help this. My abs light also comes on during the winter and the summer it comes on once in awile. Is the sencers dirty or do they need to be changed?

It sounds like you might have a dirty fuel filter, but that should cause you to have low power.
I have a 95, and it doesn't act like that.

I doubt the sensors need replacing. You could be getting them wet at the connections, so you might look at them some day.
I haven't heard much about Cutlass sensors getting dirty, but I don't know what environment you drive in, so guess it is possible.
