Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 97Olds88LS Heater Control, fuse box, rear defogger

Question
Hi Billy,
Got in the Olds on a cold snowy morning, started it up, no heater controls worked. No fan, no rear defogger, no A/C switch. Pulled the fuse for the rear defogger, it looked fine, put it back in and heat came on. All switches worked fine. A few days later, another snowstorm, no heater controls again. This time it won't come back on. Local mechanic is stumped. He has it rigged now so that heat is on all the time, fan only works on high speed. temperature switch works but rear defogger only works when fan switch is set on high. Can change air flow to defrost, bi-level, lower, etc. but not to off. Any suggestions?

Answer
hi tony, well first let,s go back to pulling fuse and putting back in .this tells me there is mostlikely a bad connection behind the fuse box.possibly a wire not all the way connected orburned or broken .if this is all fine then suspect a problem at the heater control module possibly a connection there.good luck please rate my help  billymac
