Cadillac Repair: Soft Brake Pedal, reputable facility, cylinder problem

Question
I had the pads replaced on a 1999 Cadillac Deville. When I got the car back the brake pedal was soft and could be pushed to the floor board. The serviceman said this is normal. The car will stop. I took it to another repair shop and had the brakes blead? (I don't know if this is the way to spell the word.) Abyway it didn't do any good. The man there said the master cylinder was going bad he though, but couldn't be sure. What do you think?

Answer
A SOFT brake pedal is NOT unusual. It is most likely caused by the facility that installed the pads did NOT have the brake rotors resurfaced and or possibly did not follow the correct procedure required when the pads were installed, Possible not adjusted correctly if applicable to your type of brake system of which should ALWAYS be done when brake pads are replaced.

A master cylinder problem is possible But I would recommend that you have a reputable facility have a look at your brake sytsem to be POSITIVE that the vehicle is safe to drive and I STRONGLY suggest you do it NOW.
