Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: Buick gas tank, buick park avenue, gas nozzle

Question
What is causing my 1997 Buick Park Avenue to malfunction? When I fill up the tank, the gas nozzle won't shut off, whether you leave it on automatic or fill up manually.  Unless about 20 different gas stations all have the same problem with their nozzles, it is not the station's problem.  What could be causing this?  The fuel gauge is working fine...I'm stumped and tired of smelling like gas.  The car dealership said it was a problem with the gas station but, I don't think they even looked at the car.  Thanks for your help.
