Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: electronic leveling device, oldsmobile silhouette, air shock

Question
I'd like some information on load levelers that I have on my 1997 Oldsmobile silhouette van. It has 3.4 liter engine. I think they are actually mono tube air shock absorbers but am unclear. I 4 had new tires put on my van today and when I got it back the tires look extremely small, I was very disappointed to see that I could see so much of the wheel wall behind the tire which I had never seen before. It looks terrible. I am wondering if there is a possiblity that when they lifted the van up to install the tires, and set it back down
that the shocks froze or locked and did not level properly. I may be way off here but is that possible?  I'd appreciate any information you could give me so when I take it back tomorrow I'll be somewhat educated.
Thanks,
Linda
