Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: turn signal flasher, turn signal flasher, oldsmobile bravada

On my 1998 Oldsmobile Bravada the turn signal flasher has started cycling on its own.  I have replaced the flasher which did not change anything.  I can make the flasher stop cycling by applying the brakes.  Thanks for your input.

hi bob,you changed a flasher but was it the right flasher ,there is two one works the 4 way flashers the other the turn signal.you can pull the one you changed and if signals still work ,,wrong one the other one is near the bottom of the steering coloumn under the plastic cover.if this don,t correct the prob you have a bad multi function switch.good luck please rate my help ty billymac
