Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: 99 Olds Silhouette Minivan Rear Wiper, silhouette minivan, chevy lumina

99 Silhouette Van Wiper Motor ( rear )  I have replaced my minivan rear wiper motor twice at the tune of $165 each.  Each one lasts only about two months - is progressively worse in the winter. I am not going to pay for another one but I'd like my rear window clear of snow, ice and water.  I took apart both units and found the worm drive bends to one side when it is jammed and so skips.  Is there any beefed up rear wiper drive motor available that I can use in place of the olds unit?  Chevy lumina and olds silhouette 93 have similar units, but maybe the construction is different so the worm doesn't skip and has enough "balls" to clear the window.

hi thomas,yes here is what you do call a aftermarket parts store auto zone pep boys advance auto.ask them for a replacement that is not the same brand you have been buying.but using deicer before you turn wiper on will help.and do you have rear defrost this should run awhile before you use the rear wiper.unfortuneately it is a poor design but all makes have problems with this system.i hope this helps please raTE my help ty billymac
