Chrysler Repair: 2000 chrysler concorde lxi: code P0455, chrysler concorde lxi, 2000 chrysler concorde lxi

Question
i have had my Concorde for 2 years now and the check engine light come on giving me a code of i believe p0445 stating large evap leak... when system was checked on three different times no leaks were found they push some kid of smoke thru the system.... they tested my gas cap all 3 x they stated this was my issue they would change the cap and my light would reset but days after it comes right back on have you had any experience with this code and other possibilities of the reason for the light coming on... could it be the sensor???????

Answer
Hi April,
If there are no leaks, then the other possibilies are that the valve for the system which controls the capture and subsequent release of the vapors for recycling (called the purge solenoid) is stuck ajar or is leaking when it is supposed to be closed, or the leak detector pump monitor circuit is failing. They both can be checked with the diagnostic readout box at a competent Chrysler or independent shop.  Let me know if you want to visually/mechanically check out the solenoid valve and I can tell you how to find it. Tell me which engine you have.
Roland
PS I believe you meant a code 0455.
