Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: starter help, buick park ave, 3800 v6

Question
I have a 1990 Buick Park Ave. 3800 v6 w/ 200,000 miles. One owner before me. Okay, my car has issues. When I first bought it in March 04, I had to replace the ignition module, splark plugs and wires, the battery and fuel filter. Then, my ignition switch started going out. YOu had to just keep turning it and eventually it would catch and crank the car. Well, doing that repeatedly I broke the key off in it, and had to replace the switch. The new switch wouldn't crank it either. Turn it to ACC (i think) and it would turn the lights and everything on, but you turn it again to Start(I think) and it wouldn't turn the starter over. So, I tried touching the solenoid w/ a screwdriver and it worked. I then had a friend hook up a wire from the solenoid and the pos. terminal of the battery to a toggle switch inside my car-turn the switch, hit the toggle and you are on your way. Now, the toggle switch doesnt work, and the screwdriver wont work either. My repair manual doesn't really tell me how to get my starter off, except for saying that some models may require removing engine mounts and raising it slightly to remove the starter. Is my car one of those models? Can I have my starter fixed or does it need to be replaced? How do I fix the switch issue so I can crank it w/o the toggle? Can you please help me? I'm a student, and don't have a whole lot of money to pay for repairs. My father and a friend helps me with the parts and repairs, but they haven't had time to look at it. It has been broke down for almost six weeks, and I have to get it fixed SOON. If I can get the starter off, then half of the job is done b/c I can take it somewhere and have it looked at and/or replaced. My dad and friend can't or won't fix the switch problem, and I don't know where to start. But with a little instructions besides a book I will give it a shot. Thanks for any insight you can give me.

HI ANGEL,YES STARTER IS MOST LIKELY BAD.AND REBUILDING IS MORE THEN REPLACEING WITH REMAN. AND NO YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO REMOVE ANY MOUNTS.STARTER IS LOCATED AT DR SIDE FRONT OF ENGINE.HELD ON BY TWO 15 MM BOLTS AND TWO ELEC CONNECTIONS.PRETTY SIMPLE TO REMOVE.NOW THE PROB WITH IT STARTING WITH THE KEY.ON TOP OF YOUR STEERING COLOUMN IS A ELECTRICAL IGNITION SWITCH .IT IS BOLTED TO THE STEERING COLOUMN BYE THREE SCREWS REMOVE THE SCREWS AND THERE IS A LITTLE ADJUSTMENT ON THIS SWITCH ADJUST IT AND TRY AND CRANK IT TIGHTEN UP WHERE IT CRANKS IF NO AVAIL, THEN REPLACE THIS SWITCH.YOU WILL NEED TO REMOVE TWO OR FOUR BOLTS HOLDING COLOUMN UP AND COLOUMN WILL DROP ALL THE WAY TO THE SEAT.THERE IS A ROD THAT GOES INTO THE BACK OF THIS SWITCH THIS ROD ENGAGES THIS PART AND THEN THE STARTER AS THE KEY IS TURNED..GOOD LUCK PLEASE RATE MY HELP TY BILLYMAC
