Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: transmission, ford tempo, throttlebody

Question
I let a 1993 Ford Tempo sit for 2 to 3 months because I needed to replace the gas tank.  Before parking it the tranny worked fine.....now it wil not shift out of 2nd gear.  Any suggestions?

HI SCOTT,YES SOUNDS LIKE THE GOVENOR SPRING STUCK.ON YOUR TRANS AT THE PASSENGER SIDE AXLE OUT PUT SHAFT.YOU WILL SEE THE SPEEDO CABLE CONNECTED THEIR ALSO REMOVE THE SPEED SENSOR AND THE GOV IS RIGHT THERE PROBABLY BUSTED .REPLACE IT MAKE SURE THE CABLE FROM THE TRANS TO THE THROTTLEBODY IS HOOKED UP AND WORKING GOOD LUCK PLEASE RATE MY HELP BILLYMAC
