Question - Hello Billy Mc I change the computer already. And its still doing the same thing.
I GOT A 87 OLDSMOBILE 98 3.8L V6. ONE DAY I WAS RIDING DOWN THE STREET AND MY CAR CUT COMPLETELY OFF. IT USE TO START BACK UP BUT NOW IT DONT. I CHANGED THE IGNITION MODULE, CRANK SENSOR, CAMSENSOR, COIL PAKS, KNOCK SENSOR, I EVEN CHECKED THE WIRES BY THE BATTERY. I WANT TO KNOW CAN U HELP ME THE BEST WAY U CAN.        THANK YOU SO MUCH.

hi dexter.did you check the balance pulley when you changed the cranksensor.?there is a fireing ring behind the balance pulley if this is bent or damaged it will not fire.if the timeing chain is broke it will not fire.check these get back with me   billymac

hi dex,the fireing ring is on the crank pulley where your belt goes around.the cranksensor is also behind there it is little aluminum rings that actually go through the slots in the cranksensor ,and no sorry i don,t have pic but any service manual will have .ty billymac

hi dex, no the tps only tells the computer where the throttle is positioned so it will know how much fuel to deliver no control on the fire at all.dex  CHECK ALL THE FUSES AND FUSIBLE LINKS,AND THE HARNESS FROM MODULE TO CRANK SENSOR YOU HAVE A BROKEN WIRE OR BURNED AND SHORTED WIRE..GOOD LUCK BILLY MAC
