How can I improve my gas mileage on a 1992 olds 88 ls? It has a 3800 v6. I am only averaging arouns the 17 miles/gal. Appreciate any information I can get. Thank you!

hi valerie ty for writeing.assumeing your eng is tuned properly and runs fine .which most 3800 engs do.driveing habits cost mileage.for instance,when approaching a stop let the car slow down don,t run up on the light and stop fast.when you take off take off slowly and let the trans run it,s course.drive a steady speed as much as possible 55 mph is when your mileage is best use the cruise everytime you can.use an octane booster when you fill your car.keep the oil clean.do all this your next fill i will guarantee you 5 mpg more ..please rate my help billymac
