Oldsmobile/Buick Repair: thermostat, buick skylark, radiator hose

Question
I have a 1993 buick skylark custom, 6 cyl.  I know the thermstat is bad.  The problem is, is that i don't know where to start.  I need to know which hose off the radiator has the thermo, and what , if anything do i have to take off to get to it.
any advice would be appreciated !! thank you.

Answer
Hello Patty,
The thermostat is almost always under the hose neck on the engine where the top radiator hose connects.
Remove that hose, then unbolt the neck. When you lift it off, the t-stat will be right there.
When replacing the new one, make sure the sensor side is toward the engine. It may just go one way, and also may be marked.
